Software Development & Engineering Recruitment

Resilient platforms start with the right engineers.

When a bank or hedge fund in Singapore commits to a new product, it needs technology that will hold. The right engineers make that possible, building platforms that scale without becoming fragile. That’s where we come in.

We specialise in software development and engineering recruitment across Singapore, introducing application support, architecture, blockchain, C#, C++, DevOps and SRE, Java, KDB, mobile, Python, and QA and testing professionals to global banks, hedge funds and multinational corporations.

Software engineering recruitment for Financial services

Each of our consultants specialises in one area of the technology market. In financial services software engineering, that means keeping our market knowledge current every day. We track how kdb+, cloud-native platforms and AI coding tools are reshaping teams, how new roles like AI engineer and platform engineer are defined, and how pay is moving in Singapore. Every brief starts from shared understanding.

Our executive search service extends to leadership roles such as CTO and Head of Engineering, where organisational influence matters as much as technical background. The strongest hires add value beyond their job description, so we look at the whole picture. Technical capability in C++, Java, C#, Python or cloud delivery is the foundation, alongside:

  • Composure: staying clear-headed during incidents and market events
  • Craft: caring about testing, security and maintainable code
  • Business fluency: explaining trade-offs to traders, risk and product teams

Every candidate is screened by a consultant who knows this market, beyond job titles and certifications.

We recruit across the engineering lifecycle, from production support through to architecture:

  • Application Support: production and application support engineers who keep trading, risk and client platforms stable, from front-office support to L2 and L3 incident resolution.
  • Architecture: solution, enterprise and cloud architects who shape how platforms are modernised, integrated and secured.
  • Blockchain: engineers building tokenisation, digital asset and distributed ledger capability within regulated institutions.
  • C#: .NET developers working on trading tools, pricing services and enterprise applications.
  • C++: performance-focused developers for low-latency execution, market data and quantitative libraries.
  • DevOps & SRE: engineers who automate delivery and own the reliability of systems where availability matters to clients and regulators.
  • Java: developers behind core banking, payments, order management and risk systems.
  • KDB: kdb+/q developers working with time-series market data for trading and research.
  • Mobile: iOS and Android engineers delivering secure banking and investment apps.
  • Python: developers supporting quant research, data pipelines, automation and analytics.
  • QA & Testing: test engineers and automation specialists who make releases safe in regulated environments.

If you’re building engineering capability in-house, our conversations cover team structure, culture and how closely the role works with the business, as well as technical skills. A hedge fund team working alongside portfolio managers needs a different profile from a bank platform team serving a wide group of stakeholders. We’ll help you decide where permanent hires build lasting capability and where contract support keeps delivery moving.

If you’re a professional services firm delivering technology programmes for financial institutions, we keep the focus on skills and readiness. Engineers need to be productive in a client environment quickly, and requirements around domain knowledge, security vetting or start dates can be specific. We work to those constraints. We also take account of contract structure, notice periods and work pass considerations where a candidate isn’t a Singapore citizen or permanent resident.

We offer permanent, contract and executive search hiring. See our permanent recruitment and contract hiring pages for more detail.

We support organisations where technology carries real commercial and regulatory weight:

  • Global banks: engineering teams across trading, payments, wealth and risk.
  • Hedge funds: research, trading and data engineering teams where performance and data quality shape investment decisions.
  • Fintech: digital and fintech teams within financial institutions, building new products alongside established platforms.
  • Global insurers: technology teams modernising policy, claims and investment platforms.
  • Multinational corporations: regional technology functions in FMCG and consumer goods businesses and in professional services firms, building finance, treasury and commercial platforms.

Engineering in financial services combines technical depth with an awareness of markets, controls and clients, and a specialist approach lets us assess both. Before anyone reaches your interview stage, our consultants explore what candidates have built, supported and improved.

They also look at how candidates have worked within change control and audit expectations, and how they’ve communicated with traders, quants or business stakeholders.

We share up-to-date salary insight, realistic availability and a view of how comparable profiles are moving in Singapore, so you can plan with confidence. Our Singapore office, established in 2014, draws on a global network of 900,000+ candidates, including engineers who aren’t actively looking. We work across permanent, contract and executive search. Our understanding of banks, hedge funds and multinational corporations shapes the brief, the search and the shortlist.

Software Development & engineering market intelligence

Demand varies by platform and by how far each organisation has moved to the cloud. Our consultants therefore focus on how candidates have used their tools in production, rather than on the list on a CV.

For engineering roles, we explore experience with Java and Spring, modern .NET, C++ and Python. We also look at kdb+/q where time-series data matters, and React or native mobile frameworks for client-facing work. For delivery and reliability roles, we look at hands-on work with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. We also explore how candidates have handled incidents in live trading or payments environments.

Certifications such as AWS, Azure, CKA or ISTQB can strengthen a profile, and we look at how they’ve been applied in practice. In regulated environments, we also explore how engineers have worked within technology risk, change and audit controls, because delivering confidently under those expectations comes from real experience.

Software engineering pay in Singapore varies by language, seniority and the type of organisation. Specialist performance skills command a premium, and C++ sits at the top of the mid-level ranges below. Application and production support roles sit at the lower end. As a guide, base salaries for mid-level engineers are:

  • C# and Java developers (3 to 8 years): SGD 110,000 - 165,000
  • C++ developers (3 to 6 years): SGD 150,000 - 220,000
  • Application and production support (3 to 6 years): SGD 85,000 - 130,000

Contract engagements are priced on a rate rather than a salary, so they don’t compare directly with base pay. We can also talk through how bonus structures differ between banks, hedge funds and multinational corporations. For tailored benchmarking by role, seniority and organisation type, including senior, lead and architecture roles, visit our benchmarking page.

AI is making governance part of the engineering brief. As financial institutions move AI from pilots into production, the engineers who build and run those systems need to show how a model or AI-assisted feature is tested, monitored and explained, as well as how it was built.

Singapore’s financial regulator issued guidelines on AI risk management in October 2026. They set out supervisory expectations for oversight, risk assessment and controls across the AI lifecycle, with phased implementation from October 2027. Personal data used by AI tools is also covered by Singapore’s data protection law. Engineers who have delivered within these kinds of frameworks help your teams adopt AI with confidence and a clear audit trail.

For hiring, this widens what to look for across the team. Valuable profiles include QA professionals who can validate non-deterministic outputs, SRE engineers who can monitor model behaviour in production, and architects who design guardrails into platforms. In interviews, a candidate’s account of how they review AI-generated code is a useful window into their engineering standards.

Current market data shows Singapore’s demand for technology skills moving towards data, cloud and AI. Postings for AI, Python, SQL and cloud-related skills are rising, while web development has become less prominent, and AI adoption across enterprises climbed sharply in 2025.

For financial services teams, it’s worth planning for engineers who combine strong fundamentals with data fluency. That includes Python developers who can build reliable pipelines, and Java and C# engineers who are comfortable integrating AI services into established platforms. Our consultants track how these shifts appear in Singapore’s banks, hedge funds and multinational corporations, so we can share where competition for skills is building as you plan your hiring.
